Careers privacy notice

This notice explains what personal information Paterson collects when you apply through our careers page, how we use it, and the choices you have. We’ve kept it in plain English. Paterson (“we”, “us”) is responsible for the information you share here.
What we collect
When you fill in the form, we only collect what you give us:
- your name, email and phone number
- your total years of experience
- the area you’re interested in (Research, Wealth Advisory, Relationships or Marketing)
- whether you’re working towards a CFA or FRM
- your written answers to our questions
- any link you choose to share, such as LinkedIn or a portfolio
Please don’t include sensitive personal information in your answers, we don’t need it. If analytics are switched on for this page, we use Google Analytics to understand in aggregate how the page is used, which doesn’t identify you personally.
Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- consider you for current or future roles at Paterson
- get in touch with you about your application
- keep your details on file so that when a suitable role opens, we already know you
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for marketing.
Your consent
You share this information with us voluntarily. By submitting the form, you agree to us holding and using it as described here, in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. You can withdraw your consent at any time, see Your choices below.
Who can see it
Your application is read by Paterson’s hiring team only. We store applications in Google Sheets, so Google processes the data on our behalf as our service provider. We don’t share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your application in our talent pool for up to 24 months, after which we delete it, unless you’re hired or you ask us to remove it sooner.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to:
- see what information we hold about you
- correct anything that’s wrong
- delete your details from our records
- withdraw your consent

Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information and limit who can see your application. No system is perfectly secure, but we rely on Google’s security for storage and keep access to a small hiring team.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
